“The nice part about living in a small town is that when you don't know what you're doing, someone else does” I spent the first 10 years of my life in a small town of Rogue River, Oregon. My mom taught my Kindergarten. Mind you it has grown some in last 58 years. But really its still at a bit over 2,000 in 2014. I grew up loving the town center and living on the river. We had horses and spent most of our time outside. We lived for apx 20 years in a small town of Williams Oregon. We raised our family out there. We had many dirt roads out there. I homeschooled our kids out there. Its is a beautiful place to live. a population of 3,010 in 2007. We lived 2 years in Fort Smith Arkansas which had a population of 87,433 in 2012. It was by far the largest town I have lived in. I loved and still love the bible belt southern people and how they look at life, at a much slower pace. I spent 10 years living in Richland Center with a population of 5,066 in 2014. I loved our small town. We drove school bus and in a short time,we knew everyone. Everyone knew us. We have moved back to our home town of Grants Pass, which has a population of 34,533 in 2010. We have always at least 4-5 generations of family here. It doesn't really seem like its that much bigger because we grew up in and around the town. We kinda grew up with it. I remember stores were not open on Sunday. I remember the times when you were happy to have a black and white tv. Happy if you had one car for your family of 6. Playing in the streets of the neighborhood with all your friends. Going for long bike rides around town. I guess I said all this to say this No matter where I live ,if Jesus goes with me ,I will go anywhere! Truth be told, I am a small town girl and I love it! | |
