About Me

Glad you stopped by. I love blogging and I find it relaxing.
I love my Jesus. I gave him my heart and life. To think He loved me while I was yet a sinner. He gives me power to live a sinless life. I am married to my high school sweetheart. I have 2 grown children and 13 grandchildren. I have a job that I love working with other
Christians. My husband is a pastor. We have had the opportunity to meet and have many friends. God has been both my husband and my healer. I enjoy making new friends and would love to hear to hear from you! To God be the glory!!!!

wild and bizzare Holidays

this one isn't bizzare but rather needful.....

National Honesty Day

Date When Celebrated : Always April 30 th
National Honesty Day encourages us to be honest today, and everyday. We honestly believe you try your best to be honest.
Honesty is a great virtue. If we want people to believe us when its important, then we need to be open and honest all of the time. We all know about the boy who cried wolf. When a wolf actually appeared, no one believed him.
Celebrate National Honesty Day in a completely open and honest way.
To be totally honest, there are few rules for this special day......just be honest.

Origin of "National Honesty Day":
M. Hirsh Goldberg, former press secretary to a governor of Maryland and author of five books, created National Honesty Day in the early 1990s after spending four years researching and writing The Book of Lies (Morrow). This book has been translated into Japanese, Korean and Chinese.
Goldberg created this day, because he felt that the month of April, which begins with a big day of lying (April Fools Day), should end on a higher moral note.
This is referred to as a "National" day. However, we did not find any congressional records or presidential proclamations for this day.

Take Your Daughter To Work: Interested Heidi?

Take Your Daughter to Work Day 2017

Date of Take Your Daughter to Work Day: Fourth Thursday of April
Acting on research that showed adolescent girls received less attention than boys, this day was initiated in 1993 by the Ms. Foundation for Women. The intention was to give girls additional direct attention and an insight into work world opportunities available to them. It was to serve the multiple purpose of increased self esteem for young girls as well as give them some ideas of the wealth of careers in the world. Thirdly, it allowed them more one-on-one time with mom or dad.
It quickly took off and became extremely popular. Girls would go off to work with mom or dad, or even an aunt or uncle. They would spend the day seeing just what their sponsors job involved. It was limited only by the practicality of allowing a youthful, non-employee in a particular job environment. It works well in office environments, but proves impractical in many blue collar jobs, or where safety can be an issue.

It 's popularity quickly sparked interest by the boys, who soon felt left out and were required to go to school for the day, while the girls "got the day off". As a result, the day has turned into "Take Your Son or Daughter to Work Day" in many areas. While this takes away from the original intent to give more attention to adolescent girls, it has become a valuable and popular career day opportunity for girls and boys alike.

Musical Monday: I Can only imagine

I have always loved this song. It took on new meeting, when my father in law unexpectedly passed on to live with his Savior.   He was a wonderful father and husband. I always felt like we had something special, we both came to the Lord thru the Sunday School work. He was doing what he loved doing to relax, hunting.  He simply got up from sitting and step into heaven.

Looking Back- Youth Night Ar Parsonage

When we lived in Richland Center, we had youth night at the parsonage.  We enjoyed it.  Had snacks, games and closed with a devotional.  We lived there for ten years. In those years we saw kids born, grow become teen agers, date . We saw them engaged, married and have children. Where does time go? We we moved there, It seemed like we didn't have any history. Everyone knew each other all thier life. I just wished to have history.  When we left, it seemed like we had lived there most of our lifes. We had in a way, a fifth of it.

When we left, we took friends, testimonies and life stories with us. Never to be forgotten but always in our heart.  Here is a few pictures of some special young people.

Guest Blogger: Sierra and Her Best Friend

Tuesday Tidings: My Best Friend........

On Tuesdays you will find guest blogs by my daughters and many other people.
This post is by Sis about her best friend...
I feel so blessed to have children that truly love each other and want to be
with each other!
Enjoy!!

This is my best friend and I:

Her name is Shelby, we have been best friends since birth. We have been though thick and thin, bad times and good. We both have our moments.....
But no matter what we stick together and let God lead our lives.
One time we were getting ready to have church in Medford, I was wandering, and stopped to hang out with Dad who was talking to another man saying:
"Ya, it's nice how if Sierra and Shelby get in a fight, they always say sorry afterward."
I think I was blushing! I was so happy that Dad was proud of me.
Also that Shelby and I are getting along, because I love her.
Shelby always has my back. If I tell her something I think is unfair, she agrees with me and says:

"NO WAY!"
Almost every time, it always comforts me and makes me feel better about the problem. If I'm not sure what to do about something, I talk to her first...even before Mom some times. If I get in a fight, she's always the peace maker. Maybe at the time I don't agree, after I cool down, I see that she was right. What I'm trying to say is:

 I Love You Shelby!!!

Kindergarten Day : Do You Remember Yours

Kindergarten Day

Date When Celebrated : Always April 21
It's Kindergarten Day. The first day at Kindergarten is a memorable, exciting, nervous, and anxious time for mother and child. Most children and mothers will never forget the first day at Kindergarten. Hopefully, it was a good experience for all!
Kindergarten Day is celebrated in honor of Friedrich Froebel. He was born on this day in 1782. In 1837, he started the first Kindergarten in Germany. It became popular quickly. Kindergartens were originally a 1/2 day to get children acclimated into learning, social interaction, and school, in a fun, yet educational manner. Kindergarten has evolved in most areas into a full time program. This is partly the result of increasing pressures on education, and partly due to the increase in working mothers in America.
Celebrate today with a trip down memory lane. Pull out the old pictures of you and/or your child's first day at Kindergarten.

Looking Back- Happy Birthday Emma

Emma what a sweet girl you are.  You were born after we moved to Wisconsin. You are the only one of my natural grandchildren that I wasn't in the room when you were born. But your daddy gave me step by step walk thru it as you were born. I knew as he did- love cell phones! It was being in the room.

I have never been in Grants Pass for her birthday, so this is new.  Emma and her Great Grandma Aileen( my mother in law) share the same birthday. Two of my favorite people celebrate on the same day!

Emma started going to our camp meeting when she was about 2 or 3.  It has been a joy to watch her grow up. We  only her twice a year but we tried to make the most of our visit.

A few nights ago we went on a group date( papa, nana and emma).  We went to sherries for dinner and dessert. Had so much with our young lady talking about going to camp meeting. All of us are looking forward to going.

Emma your my tomboy track and soccer girl with a lot of princess mixed in.

Happy Birthday

Musical Monday : Open The Eyes of My Heart

This song is so simple but it calls my heart. I want to live my life that I will see the desires of my heart. My Heart wants to be closer than ever in these last days. I just want to see my Jesus.

Looking Back- You Have Arrived

My father and mother in law drove out to visit us. They had a tom-tom to help them drive across the county and visit us at our home. They were excited how this directional device got them thru all the big cities. Using this easy device, my mother-in -law typed in the name of our street. We anxiously waited for them before we went to work. Sadly they were not there, so we left. As we drove down the road , we saw a travel trailer that appeared to be out of town. We turned around and headed back to our house. Here they were stopped at the corner of our street. When they turned onto the street, the tom-tom announced “You have arrived” She had forgotten to type in the house number! As far as the piece of machinery was concerned, they had arrived. They did not know which house on the street was ours.
In our key verse the wise took not only their lamps but they took oil in their vessels with them. The foolish merely took their lamps. The wise wanted to make sure they had all the equipment they needed to meet the bridegroom. The foolish only took their lamp. Without oil, the lamp will not be able to continue to burn . Life is full of details. Success depends on paying attention to details. All the virgins brought their lamps. All of them knew they would need to light them. It was the wise virgins who took oil with them, they were ready when the call was made. A small detail, but it made all the difference in the outcome.
It was small detail my mother- in -law forgot. Although they had not arrived, the device announced they had. We can go thru life feeling that we’re doing alright, we’re getting by. When the Lord returns, it won’t be for those who are “getting by” It will be those who continue to pay attention to the details. Like the tom-tom announcing that they arrived, so will it be, when the trumpet of the Lord sounds. Those whose ears are tuned will hear it.
